In The Beginning…
Mister Shifter, born Jack Sheets, is an American drum & bass DJ and producer from Columbus, Ohio. He first began making waves in 2002 as co-founder of the original Random Movement duo with close friend Mike Richards.
In the early years, their music landed on celebrated imprints like Ireland’s Bassbin, DJ Marky’s Innerground Records, and Timeless Recordings. Random Movement’s breakout single, “Stars In The Dark,” became an instant hit, earning heavy rotation from the scene’s top DJs and solidifying their international status.
A New Path Forward…
As a solo artist, Mister Shifter debuted on Fanu’s Lightless Recordings in 2015, kicking off a prolific stretch of releases. His work has since featured on respected labels including Artikal Music UK, Flexout Audio, Dispatch Recordings, and Straight Up Breakbeat-showcasing infectious grooves and razor-sharp production.
To Shape The Future…
In 2025, he’s set to drop his most anticipated release yet: an EP on Over/Shadow, the acclaimed label born from the legacy of Moving Shadow.
With forward-thinking original productions always in the works and high-energy DJ sets lighting up dancefloors across the country, Mister Shifter remains a trusted name in the ever-evolving world of bass music.
